Founded in 2007, eMedExpert.com is a unique free online informational web site dedicated to health and medicine.

About the Author and Editor

The author and editor of content on eMedExpert got Ph.D in Mathematics in 1998. We are not medical or health care professionals. We started to take an interest in medications in 2001 when we wanted to learn more about antibiotics we were taking at that time. During the next 6 years we were studying every medication we and our family members were prescribed and learned a lot about several groups of drugs including antivirals, pain relievers, muscle relaxants, and already mentioned antibiotics.

Finally, in the beginning of 2007 we decided to share with other people what we have learned about medications. Since then we keep adding information about medications that interest us, and sometimes at request from our readers.

All information on this site has been obtained from sources that are referenced throughout the site.

Quality and Source of Content

The Internet is a rich source of information on health, but it can also be a source of confusion and contradiction. Don't just trust some well-looking website.

How do you know whether the information you have found is reliable? High-quality information should be objective and based on scientific evidence where available.

We obtain information only form the most reputable sources including government, educational and industrial. We use a variety of references to create the content - medical reference textbooks, medical journals, drug-prescribing information approved by the FDA, and, among other, the following sources:

American Academy of Family Physicians - web site of the medical specialty society which represents more than 93,700 family physicians and medical students.

MedScape - a free resource for Physicians, featuring Free CME (Continuing Medical Education), medical journal articles, MEDLINE, medical news, major conference coverage, and comprehensive drug information.

ScienceDaily - news and articles in science, health, environment and technology.

Our articles have "References" section, where the studies and sources of information on which the content is based are listed.
